Our Dear Friends,

Grace and peace to you in Jesus Name! We pray this update finds you and your loved ones in good and cheerful spirits. Thank you for walking with us in faith and upholding us in your prayers continually.  

We are coping fairly and grateful to the Lord for preserving us through the unpredictable seasons. Blessed be His glorious Name. 

FAMILY: Regarding USA studies - Joshua was denied a US Student Visa despite the successful admission to Ohio State University. The cited reason from the consulate for this refusal was that there was lack of evidence for “sufficient ties” to compel his return home after the studies. We provided all the evidence of our strong family ties and establishments, ministry and future work opportunities etc, but the decision stood. We are praying for Joshua for wisdom to see the road beyond this set back.  

George, was also denied a visa to US.  He had been invited to the Annual International Pastors Conference in San Diego, California, and hoped to visit with some of you afterwards.  In the past George has travelled to the US on the same documentation as were presented, so the denials feel a bit awkward. Again, the reasons for denial;  not enough “ties”, not enough “funds!’’ There’s also a new US visa policy which  requires some applicants to post a refundable cash bond of up to USD 15,000 before issuance. In that case, the amount was not readily available.  

However, we have not lost hope and believe that doors will open up in God’s timing. “He is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we ask all think.”

On another note, as a family, we take this opportunity to announce the wedding of our daughter Carol to Moses, which is scheduled on 29th August, 2026. This is also our special invitation to you. Please come and join us! (A photo attached below)

In addition, Stella is thrilled to share some exciting news from her long periods of writing! She has finally published her book; “When the King is Pleased.” The book explores prayer as a relationship – one that is sustained by love, faith and obedience, the very keys to answered prayer. If you are longing for more in your prayer life and desire to discover how to pray in a way that moves God’s heart, this book is for you. For those interested, the e-book is available on Africanbooks.com under the Christian books section. We could send a hard copy too, but due to current restrictions, the US has not been accepting parcels from Uganda. So Stella is prayerfully exploring other ways to get the book to more readers.  

SCHOOL: We are now into the second term and quite a number of parents haven’t been able to return due to the economic challenges we are facing. The Iran conflict is upsetting the economy in that the increased fuel prices automatically cause the basic commodities and services to skyrocket. Also, the Ebola threat over the months worsened the situation, times are challenging. We are thankful that at the moment the situation seems to be under control and we pray that soon the nation will be pronounced Ebola free. Thank you for your prayers.

A WALL OF SAFETY: For all those years we have managed without a wall around the school although it has been a prayer point. As the community has kept growing, so have our safety concerns. The road beside our school is now busier, with motorcycles, Matatus and pedestrians. The need for a perimeter wall has never been more urgent. The children are exposed to road traffic, strangers and stray animals. A dog entered the classroom the other day and caused quite a fright. We thank God it was driven out amidst the chaos and no rabies bites occurred. A wall will be an answered prayer and a testimony to every child here who has prayed for its existence.  

A perimeter wall means safety during school time for both the day scholars and for those that board. This need is even more urgent following the recent tragedy in Kampala, where four children were tragically murdered by an intruder who trespassed onto a daycare centre premises. The attack happened so quickly that the lives of those precious children could not be saved.   

We have now taken a step of faith and have engaged a trusted local builder who has drawn out the estimates for the wall construction when funds avail.  

The sample budget breakdown:

1.  Bricks, Cement, Sand, Steel = UgX 38,000,000 ($10,530)

2.  Skilled and unskilled labour= UgX 7,500,000 ($1,970)

3.  Foundation, hardcore, gate + ironwork: UgX 6,000,000 ($1,700)

4.  Transport, utilities, contingency UgX 1,500,000 ($390) 

Total UGX 53,000,000 (round to US$15,900)

CLINIC: The official clinic launch we had planned for during the earlier part of the year has been delayed due to the political atmosphere since the national elections that took place in February '26. Our application to the ministry was pending the swearing in ceremony which was due in May. Unfortunately the minister we had invited was not reappointed, so we have to reschedule. The Ebola epidemic has also restricted big gatherings so far.  Until the ban is lifted-- which we hope will be very soon, nothing can be done to that effect, Otherwise the day to day patient visits is going on well,
